On September 13 at 7PM, Plantation Acres Improvement District (PAID), the special district responsible for drainage in Plantation Acres, will hold its budget meeting and hearing of their proposal for this year's tax assessment. If their proposed change is made, Plantation Acres real estate tax assessments will increase from $875 to $1,250 per acre just for PAID. The meeting is held at the building located at 1701 Old Hiatus Road in Plantation, which is on the northwest corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Old Hiatus Road.

The City of Plantation's 'In Honor Of' program is intended to provide opportunities throughout the city parks for community members to remember and honor loved ones or commemorate an individual or group. These opportunities include a brick paver, memory tree or bronze plaque.

The City of Plantation will be temporarily switching to free chlorination in its drinking water system beginning Sunday, September 24, 2023 and ending on Sunday, October 08, 2023.
